I think high cotton said it best. It depends where you are at. The plain posts will last 20 to 25 years the laminated about the same. The laminated seem to go up easier or maybe it just seems that way but watched a morton building put up and they did all the siding etc. on the ground with laminated, a bolt for hinge and use a couple of loaders to stand it up. The perma post are the best for the long haul. Guess it all depends on you. We used posts in ours and then when we poured the floor,we put a curb about 6 inches high around the bottom used a bunch of pole barn nails into the posts so that when the post rots of at ground level we still have good support. Also works good if you ever think you might store grain in it. We also drove some plastic pipe in the ground before we poured the cement about 12 feet from the edges. Just in case we need to put some grain in there we have some anchors in place.
