All you sign for on a letter is that they handed you an envelope. Nothing more. What is inside????????? Maybe nothing at all. We don't know, the post office doesn't know and it is not valid in court if the lawyers don't want it to be.
The only thing that is fool proof is a court appointed person making the delivery of an unsealed doc.
