Since you are paying a legit place, if old check and new check both show up eventually the treasurer will sort it out and make it right.
If someone stole the mail they would have cashed them by now.
The risk is I guess small they are floating around still and somehow get into their hands at this late date?
So I would make sure new checks get sent in time to make the deadline if you don’t hear anything.
