Wisconsin
The well is 18' but what is the water level? if it's only 5' of pipe then that's not too hard but it won't be instant. The engine vacuum trick will work great, can use a gallon pickle jar for a water trap with two hoses siliconed into hole punched in the lid, that's probably what I'd do if you're going to bring the four wheeler down to start it every time. I'd move the pump on the pump behind the trough with more pipe down the hole and the discharge going up over the trough wall so you have less air and more height to keep the water in the pump. It will prime if the pump is filled and it's not leaking air. 5' should be a minute or so. Sometimes seems to help to slow down and speed up in bursts for some reason if it doesn't prime in a couple minutes.
