NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | Brandon I agree with alot of the above suggestions. It's always easier to spend somebody else's money when it comes to ideas :-). I added a garage to my house 15 years ago & one thing I would have definitely did different was put floor heat in. I have two hanging electric 5000 BTU heaters in my garage & I thought it was the cats meow until I built my new shop & put floor heat in that. It is night & day difference in the two heat sources. My garage floor is always cold & wet vs. the warm & dry feeling to the floor heat. I keep both the garage & shop at 55 degrees in the winter & the shop feels 10 degrees warmer.
Another thing don't put the cheap slider windows in your garage like I did. Put in a good insulated windows in. I have to put the winter window kits on the inside of my windows every fall to keep the frost from building up on the inside window panes. What a pain!!!
Good luck with your plans. Your going to love it no what you end up doing. | |
