| Plowboy is correct, those tire measurements are 50 inches wide. My brain's 'hard drive' didn't dredge up the right dimension number.
As for other comments, yes, *continuous* no-till has much more structure and load-bearing ability than anything involving tillage. But the effects are cumulative -- lots of structure acquired in first 5 years of NT, but continuing to improve up to Year 13 or longer. If you can avoid making ruts or tracks the first 4 or 5 years, you will probably have very little trouble thereafter. Long-term no-till with annual crops isn't as good as perennial pasture for carrying loads when wet, but it is reasonably close. I've seen lots of instances where the no-tillers didn't even have mud on the combine tires, while combines couldn't even run in the adjacent tilled fields.
