Subject: RE: Alternative brands of filters

Lincoln County. NC
Some filters are better than others, but there are few truly bad filters out there. Speaking from my dealership experience, I have seen more difficulties from use of aftermarket hydraulic and hydrostatic charge circuit filters than aftermarket engine oil, fuel and air filters. Therefore, I highly recommend my customers use OEM hydrauliic filters. The flip side is OEM engine oil and fuel filters are quite often very competitive with the aftermarket so using them is not a hard sell. I have no direct opinion on Baldwin filters, as I see so few of them.
