Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND
20 + years ago a local auto/farm store had Baldwin filters as their premium brand and a cheapy brand for those that bought on price alone. The Baldwin's I used always seemed to be better fit and finish than the name brand filters, the cans were thicker material with a thick base with good threads and gasket. The cartridge filters always seemed to have metal end plates and good seals. The air filters had that fuzzy yellow paper that seemed to filter better than the typical smooth white paper that Purolator or AC used.
When this store changed to a NAPA franchise, I lost my local supply for Baldwin and kind of lost track of them.
With the good luck I had with them years ago, I was surprised when some posted on here that they considered Baldwin to be a junk filter. Have they cut quality or just prejudice against a non OEM brand ?? I have not been around them for 20+ years.
