Fact is not one engine manufacturer that I know of also manufacturers filters. They leave that to the experts in the field which are the filter manufacturers. At a John Deere parts expo Deere had all their suppliers there with booths. Fleetguard made most of the filters for JD and had a booth. I would guess that engine manufacturers engineers work with the oil filter manufacturers engineers to come up with appropriate filtration for a new design. I would not be afraid of buying filters from the manufacturer that builds them for the engine manufacturer under the engines brand name.
