Subject: RE: Train freight ad

Indiana

As E718 said the numbers are probably pretty
legit. Just as a point of reference, I work for CSX, and
on our runs of 160-200 miles we typically use about 400
gallons of fuel (200 per unit). This is an average on a 5-7000
ton freight train. Obviously an 18,000 ton coal train is more
fuel but also more tons. Yes very interesting industry and also
very inefficient mostly due to management and/or dispatching.
