East Kansas, DeSoto | Lost rail car. I worked for a vinegar company for 7 years and the RR had lost one of our cars years before. My base in Kansas City but a had a distant cousin in California who knew where I worked. A parked rail car that had been there for years, he was instructed to investigate. Simi liar to an old US Mail car with center doors. He stepped into about 8 inches of vinegar. They bought him new shoes but I got a call inquiring if it could be ours. Lost for years we just instructed to scrap it. Strange they could not trace it as it had our company name on it. Gifford
