I wish I would have taken pics this spring. I have 2 fields that I knifed in NH3 in fall in the random broadcast pattern. Then I just notill planted this spring. One of them I made 2 passes in Jan with the field cult to level an area. The results:

Anywhere the row landed on a knife strip the corn emerged quicker, and was greener and healthier. had more roots
off the strip, the corn still emerged good, just lagged behind a little
The interesting one was over the field cult passes. very little if any difference compared to the "off the knife track". ie not as good as the deeper loosened knife track.
