Subject: Re: corn yield estimate?...OK...your mistake IS

A bushel of corn is 56 pounds, 10,000 seeds per bushel divided by 56 pounds is 178 seeds per pound.

Test weigh does not matter, a bushel is 56 pounds.

At 178 seeds per pound (10,000 seeds per bushel, your example not mine.) 21,000,000 kernels per acre (Rons Example) would make 2106 bushels per acre.

21,000,000 divided by 178= 117977 pounds of corn per acre.
117977 pounds of corn per acre divided by 56 pounds per bushel = 2106 bushels per acre. A very nice yield, even for North East Illinois.

Where did you come up with 10,000 kernels in a bushel? That's big corn.

Forget density, test weight, volume, feathers, rocks ect. Just do the Math.
