Subject: RE: dryland corn hybrid for central kansas(east central)

Carbondale, KS
You say EC KS but the varieties that are planted in EC KS vary greatly. The further south you go of 68 hwy the shorter the season variety (95-105) you see planted vs the further north of 68 hwy people tend to push it some (105-116). Regardless of where you are in EC KS Dekalb 60XX series will be hard to beat year in and out. Pollinates like a 104 day corn w/a long fill period - kinda captures the best of both worlds as it pollinates early and if we have good weather kernal fill will be good. Ear placement just sucks so you need to know that going in. If P is want you want then 35Pwhatever is pretty consistant too but 60 series will beat it in this area i would bet. DK 50-20 or 54-50 would be good ones to try as well.

I would notill but that's me.
