Subject: RE: ?? for Brad

Carbondale, KS
Summer is HOT and basically dry. A whole bunch of .20 and .30 rains that just don't do much. However, corn looks to range from 70 on the thin dirt and what got the least amount of rain up to 135 or so. We are hoping for a 90 bpa farm avg - I'm a little nervous as i may be too optimistic. Corn was the BEST it has ever looked but we just ran out of moisture @ tassel/pollination. Beans look pretty good - I'm a horrible guesser w/beans but 35-40 bpa farm avg maybe??? Still a ways to go w/them - a good 3" rain would probably push them over 40 - now i would say they will end up being closer to 25-30. Neighbors full season milo looks pretty good - i wonder if a few won't back off of corn some next year.

This last rain we've got anywhere from .20 to 1.80". Heaviest amount fell on the bulk of our beans so that will help i hope.

Hope your crops suprise you to the up side.

Brad
