Subject: What do bureacrats and politicians know about it?

E.Central MN
Its just another soon to be forgotten report from a govt economist delivered to some headline grabbing politicians. Next week they're just as likely to be at a rally bragging about how ethanol is saving the planet and providing thousands of jobs in rural America. In reality the govt is providing a small subsidy to farmers in trade for a huge investment in alternative energy plants. The marketplace sees its a good deal, the consumer doesn't care, and the politicians are just looking for issues to run for office with. The only crisis in today's corn market is the price, below $2 cash, why would anyone expand acreage another 10 million acres?
