Subject: RE: The other company....pipelines

Chebanse, IL.....

Pete,

We had an annual Co. Corn Growers meeting the other night & there was a very good speaker there from St of IL Corn Growers. The pipeline question came up. He said they CAN and DO send ethanol thru pipelines, but it's too expensive. Reason is the water thing. Pipelines currently use slugs of water to separate their products pumped. As has been mentioned before, ethanol picks up that water & ends up very "hydralized" at the end of the pipe. Then they have to remove the water again & it's too expensive. He said that nothing beats the economy of rail transport for quantities of ethanol.

It was a very good meeting.

And yes, I asked my usual question.
