You have three times the yield and many times the plant heighth in corn. I would get it off first but keep an eye on the beans. Those green stems will pick up moisture on every rain. Unless it is a shatter prone variety, and all are to some extent, that is their nature, the beans will still be there. Scraping corn off the earth is and impossible task. Shelling tall, dry corn is a pleasure. When farmers talk about corn head devices I wonder what they are doing wrong. Soil Test? Tisse Test? Variety? Pest Management? I get heat for wet corn, not down corn. Just my experience... Ed |
