Pittsburg, Kansas		High fructose corn syrup has a couple things going for it from a manufacturers perspective.

First, fructose is sweeter than glucose. High fructose corn syrup usually has a slightly higher proportion of fructose to glucose than sugar.

Second, it is cheaper than sugar.

Otherwise, there is not much difference. One pretty much is equivalent to the other.
