If your blood sugar (glucose) is "borderline high", make sure they also check fasting insulin and hemoglobin A1c. Those 2 tests will tell you whether you have diabetes or not. If you do have an A1c above 6, you will need to cut carbs to reverse your diabetes. Fasting is good in that it gives the gut time to heal between meals. Most people have an undiagnosed diabetes because the doctors don't ask for the 2 tests I mentioned until it gets bad enough that the glucose level in the blood gets high. By then a lot of damage can already be done. Peripheral neuropathy was my prize for having a doctor who wouldn't order the proper tests. After cutting the carbs and eating all the meat and eggs with butter I could eat, I lost 46 pounds and reversed my diabetes. It was easy for me to go until noon with only coffee for breakfast. A ribeye steak for dinner and more meat for supper and I was doing well.
