| My 50/50 is hauled 30 miles to nearest elevator. I figure the landlord provides land and pays property taxes along with half of the inputs and I pay fuel/machinery/repairs/trucking and half of the inputs.
I also pay any application fees so the landlord is charged only on actual products.
I have the same arrangement on 1/3-2/3 except I pay all crop inputs and expenses except land lord pays lime based on grid soil tests pulled by the coop.
On both arrangements I pay the soil sampling, I figure I'm probably paying for more than I should at times but I'm trying to grow and if I don't want to pay to play somebody else will be more than happy to.
Also on all of my share rent it's sold in the landlords name and mine jointly at the elevator so no one can claim any funny business on truckloads. It's a lot easier to be honest than to remember the lie you told. | |
