Central IA | If planting now, plant clover, white and/or red. Some annual rye grass. Throw some oats or other grain in maybe winter peas. Plan on mowing to help clover.
If you want to add strips in late summer or early fall. Put some rape and turnips in.
Don’t be afraid to add corn, beans or Milo in the spring. I give one of my neighbors some half bags of beans or corn for plots. He’s next to me and at least the deer pick his first before they get to my field. | |
