Subject: Early planting beans in the south?

tennessee
Tried some a few years ago...planted April 18th. They sit there till very end of April before they came up and they just never seemed to have the vigor they should have. Havent tried it since, but thinking of trying it again this year. Do any of you have good luck planting mid April around Tennessee? I swore after that year id never plant beans before May 1st but here I am thinking about it again...I read on here of people planting in April much farther north than me and getting better yeilds.
