FWIW- A late freind of mine used to refinish wood decks for extra cash. I think he said he wouldn't use anything over about 1800 psi on anything wood. Starts making the wood kind of fibrous over that- he called it "hairy". Don't want to make your deck "hairy", then you have to sand it. A $100 washer for a house is good enough, and safe enough.
