Subject: RE: Wind turbines

I would like the money, don't want to look at them. Windmill developers know what concerns the landowners have, they know what answers to give to ease the landowner's minds, but the wind developers have a BAD reputation for following through on their promises. It's not the windmills themselves that are a pain in the rump to farm around, it's the service roads to the towers that are the PITA. The developers always tell the landowners that they will "try to put the towers in a corner of the farm, or near a fence line" "whenever possible". Unfortunately, it isn't possible very often. The tower it's self will only take a tenth or 2 of a acre of farmland, but the service road will take 2-3-4 acres. The tower people do pay for the service roads, but it sure messes up a field. I've heard stories about the farmer promised that he "probably" could use the service roads during farming operations, then when it comes to use them, the wind people had no idea what their own salesmen said/promised ...... and then lawyers get hired....
