Michigan | I know a few years ago Monsanto had a program where they guaranteed $8.00 per acre yield advantage of Bt over conventionals. I believe that the results showed that the two states that did not justify (did not pay off) were Michigan and Wisconsin. When we were testing isolines in MI at the same time we were seeing the same thing - that event was not returning enough at $2.00 corn.
Moving forward to this year - What I have seen in the few plots we have taken off (way too low of a sample to prove anything and EVERY year is different) Average return per acre at $3.5 corn less drying was as follows
Conventional hybrids $548, Bt Hybrids - $567, RW/BT $591 - these plots were all on rotated ground under moderate drought stress.
These results were very suprising to me. Again so many factors such as drought stess and the fact that everywhere in MI GDU are 300 - 400 higher than average.
