south east SD
We bought a new 4440 ordered from the factory in summer of 1980 and got it Oct of 1980 so it is a 1981 model. Paid $30500 with 20-8-38 band duals and 8 front end weights. We later went to 18-4-42 with step up rims. Ours sat inside almost all the time and we painted it about 4 years ago because it looked bad from faded color or bad paint from those years. Ours has 7000 hrs on it, It went from main tractor to planter tractor to now wagon hauler in fall. We have changed a gear in the transmission from grinding it into the next range and a under haul but the mechanic said it looked very good. Be sure the AC tube to the back is changed to the new style it is on mine. Ours has been very good to us, But we took care of it.
