Saronville NE | To test the PS tranny, go thru each gear and stand on the brakes, if it doesnt slip in any of the grs, and just pulls the engine down, you shld be good to go. You could pull the suction screen out and see if it has any material in it. Look at the blowby like another said. Id make sure it has been updated to r134a freon. Look at the frontend closely and see if the center pivot pin, and bushings are in good shape, they are kinda a bear to change. We used to have a 79 model good tractor, but we ended up losing the tranny on ours and traded it for a 4650. That was 7 yrs ago, but still miss that tractor, was a good hayin and shreddin tractor.
