Subject: Get a 4630 for half price.

Eastern VA. No such thing as too many Magnums.
If you don't need 540 PTO or extreme 3 pt hitch capacity, Do yourself a favor and get a 4630. It will be half price of a 4440 and is better if you get a late model. Just make sure it is a '76 or newer (above S/N 18392), so that you have the 40 series style injection pump. We have had three 4440s and two 4630s. All the 4440s are gone but we have the 4630s. I personally prefer the quad range because you have more choices, and powershifts are pricey if you need repair. I sold a 4440 for $22K 3 years ago and bought a nicer 4630 with fewer hours for $8k. Ours have 7000 and 9000 hrs and they're simple and easy to keep nice. They don't set the world on fire for fuel economy, but neither does the 44.
