Rawlins County Kansas | It sounds to me a good move to anywhere on the High Plains will satisfy your needs. Our population declines every year, no urban land "speculation" for housing plots. Pretty much little traffic on the gravel roads to be aware of. When you do have to meet someone on the road they "know" whats going on and quickly find a field entrance to dive into while you pass with your combine (with 30' platform attached). Everyone knows everyone (and the previous 3-4 generations within the same family). My kids go to school with other kids with the same last names as the "kids" that went to school with my grandpa.
Don't worry about cell phones; shortage of towers means they only work about 50% of the time.
Just some thoughts from an area where you don't have to pull your keys when you go to town.
It was 110F yesterday and has been over 100F since last Thursday. Thank God for AC!
