I know that when trading in vehicles in the past the salesman has asked me if it would be okay for a potential buyer to contact me about the vehicle.
It is possible that they asked the previous owner if potential buyers could contact them and they may have replied with a NO. In that case I would think it would be wrong for the salesman to give out that persons name or contact information.
Privacy laws?? in automobiles?
