Subject: RE: Nebraska Irrigation NRD question

Saronville NE
They are doing it to build subsoil moisture. Because on corn if we don't have subsoil once we hit tassel we will never keep up and have crappy corn.
I'm in same nrd I normally only use 7 in. If that. Highest was 2012 I believe at around 11 inches. I'm pry close to 5 inches already this yr. I have made 6 passes so far. Normal is 6-9 passes in a yr.

Example last yr we started watering earlier on beans then normal because dry. Lots didn't. The guys who watered earlier had on avg 10-15 bu better beans according to my seed dealer and what customers were reporting in yields.

This yr same thing if your not watering presently or haven't fairly hard you will get behind and pay for it. You can't catch up once behind.

In a normal yr I would have no issues with the 25 in in 3 yr restrictions cause I'd be great. This yr you'd be screwed in that scenario.

They aren't nuts for doing it. IMO they are managing the situation to the best of the ability to make good finicial decision for there operation.
