NC Kansas | A couple good appraisals will give a good idea even if you have to average them. may cost you $1,500 each though. You as the sellers come up with what you agree on is a fair price. And remember a realtor/auctioneer will cost you from 3 to 5% minimum. So if you are talking about $5,000/acre land that's about $250/acre off the top. If you like your family and want them to have it, I would use that 5% figure to offer them a little wiggle room and you both come out ahead.
That's the easy way this can go...there are about 12 other more painful ways to do this depending on the parties involved. Good luck!
