That is about what I find too, Rollie. Depends a lot on soil type, organic content, soil N content that is releaseable to the new crop, manure etc.

Mulvaney's work says farmers have been using too much N based on the old system of recommendation so the high N prices have encouraged us all to find that minimal amount to maximize profit as highest yield is not always highest profit.
