Little River, TX | Here in CenTex it is my opinion unconditioned hay laid out in a wide swath, remove the swath board, will cure as quickly or quicker than conditioned hay dropped in a windrow.
To be sure I use a 9' mower conditioner before and a 9' disk conditioner now, but lay the hay out in a full width swath, in March to early June.
June I switch to a NH disk mower to minimize the blister beetle hazards. (Just in case I am distracted and miss seeing them)
I have not done a side by side comparison, though. | |
