If you want to fatten up, eat fat and sugar together.

Insulin is the key. Eat the sugar or other carbohydrates to raise insulin. With raised insulin both the carbs AND the fats are being told to be stored. Stored in subcutaneous fat as far as can be done, when this fat is over loaded then to keep blood sugar levels under control finally visceral fat.

It is why junk packaged food is so fattening. It has both the fats and carbs.

In a low carbohydrate (low insulin secretion) scenario it is completely different.

It only takes a couple weeks of a low carb diet to affect and reduce fat in the organs. The body knows this is the dangerous fat and will get rid of it as soon as it can.

Low insulin levels are required to lose or in other words burn body fat. Body fat can not be burned in the presence of high insulin levels. High insulin tells the body to store excess energy as fat. Carbs raise insulin. Fat by itself does not.
