Texas
I have friends that still have a few cows bought for sky high prices in 14-15. They just started making profit last year. Most of them died before they saw profit! They caused bankruptcies and selling of family land. So anyone who remembers that isn’t restocking yet. Strong cull prices are promoting culling of stuff. A lot of my friends think I’m crazy keeping $1400 heifers, but I think I’ll get my money back within 2 years.

I’m going to assume this drags on a lot longer than last time. It’s already way better than last time. I don’t think steers and heifers were near this good last time so there’s more incentive to keep selling heifers. Plus guys here that buy a lot of hay are keeping strong profits by running thin herds and buying less hay and selling more heifers or old cows.
