Northern Nebraska | It's not the same things whenever it rains. Drought almost always means warmer than normal. Warmer means more soil biological as activity and more N release from organic matter. A large rain after a drought will always leach more nitrates total than evenly spaced rains.
People should absolutely be testing for soil N. It's critically important not only for the water supply but also our bottom line. | |
