| You take a vehicle in for a diagnosis and you will be billed for said diagnosis. A good diagnostic test is more than just hooking up a tester. First off its the tech's time to hook the stuff up. Then there's the time it took to train the tech to properly use the equipment. Next is the cost of the equipment itself. Add in overhead and It all adds up. No dealer is going to use a highly paid tech using high costing test equipment to have you come in for a diagnosis and then let you leave so you can fix whatever they told you was wrong yourself. They mite give you a break on the diagnostic fee if they also do the repair but not always. | |
