You didn’t get taken and he didn’t rip you off. Other customers are paying the rates.

You and this business are not compatible. Your expectations didn’t align. Nothing is wrong, neither of you are wrong.

You and this business are like oil and water, you tried to mix and it didn’t work. You don’t blame oil and you don’t blame water for being the way that they are, it just is the way it is.

Pay the full bill or the $200 agreement and move on with your life.


You had a phone conversation with the owner and came to $200. Honor it. Sending a letter after a phone call is just a scummy and dishonourable move to have the last word. If you wanted to pay $100, then the phone call was your chance to make that happen and you missed your chance. $100 is not enough for 40 miles and 2 hours of a skilled person’s time.
