Subject: RE: Carb amounts

Malta, Illinois
I have primarily focused on removing processed foods from my diet over the past several years and it has worked pretty well. I do try to limit carbs but am not real strict about it either. I eat a limited amount of red meat and quite a bit of fish and chicken. I eat a fair amount of eggs too. My vice tends to be a couple of squares of very dark chocolate most days and on rare occasions some ice cream. I never was diabetic but this approach has kept my blood sugar at a very comfortable level. The removal of processed foods from the diet eliminates an enormous amount of sodium so that helps keep blood pressure in check. Cholesterol and triglycerides are good too.
