Northeast iowa
Landlord believes anhydrous is bad for the soil, his ground his rules/opinion. I rent pasture from him so I'm guessing that's why he let me have the opportunity. The guy who has farmed it the last 20 years has used a no till dry fertilizer planter but he had a bad health scare this spring and is pretty much forced to retire is how the opportunity came about. I wanted to plant it to corn because the farm has a aph of 220 corn but only 53 for beans so corn looks more profitable plus he is letting me make corn stalks on the whole farm without having to put removal rates back like I would with ground I rent/own. I'm hoping it works because I like the idea of incorporating cover crops with my beef herd so this should atleast get my feet wet. I do agree with you beans would be the easier choice though.
