Subject: Allow me to told you where slot plowing are good.

Little River, TX
West of here near San Angleo, TX there is some overgrazed hard dirt called pastures. Rain falls on them and 110% runs off.

The cure is to plow on the contour with a single deep shank every 15 feet or so. What happens is all the rain, what there is, collects at the slots and the effect is 30" or so of effective rain fall. The grass comes back and hold back even more water. Eventually the grass fills in between the slots and the pastures then use all of the 15" of rain that falls.

As to cutting slots in crop land, may or may not be good, but out near San Angelo on their range pastures it works.
