I hate to open this can of worms, but I'm going to say it anyway. PLOW. Any ground that I have corn on corn gets plowed. Might not work everywhere, but it works for me. I have pretty heavy black soil (SW MN). Just seems to me a lot less problems when you bury all that trash.
