Subject: RE: Here's the answer

Iowa
MOSTof the time I keep my cart moving, and we all know how much more one can do in a day with a cart.

Here is how a cart can still speed up things DRAMITACALLY when I am short-handed: Scenerio: 600 bu cart, 600 bu trucks, 300 bu combine. 1350A corn yielding 180.

W/O Cart--trucks not back from dumping yet-combine sitting full waiting. Truck shows up, combine dumps, then truck has to sit while combine goes and gets second hopper to fill truck. In this example, time is wasted 1) when combine waits full 2) while truck waits for a full load.

With cart-- combine fills cart while trucks gone. Truck driver pulls in, hops on cart, fills truck, and in less than 10 minutes, is back on the road. Combine never even sees truck--just knows that when he gets another round made, cart is once again empty and he can keep running. While this is not as good as unloading on the go, I can assure you it will make a huge difference.

There, now you have it. No need to "keep asking".
