Subject: RE: Ketogenic diet

Pittsburg, Kansas
Baby humans are in a state of ketosis while in the womb and much of the time while they are breast feeding. Mothers breast milk is high in medium chain triglycerides or in other words fat.

The brain prefers ketones for fuel and will utilize them any time they are in the bloodstream. People with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's can benefit from a ketogenic diet as the brain readily utilizes ketones for fuel whereas glucose is not being utilized very well.

Being in ketosis is a completely natural state of being and nearly everyone SHOULD be sometime during the night before breakfast. People who are insulin resistant usually are not, because of high insulin levels around the clock.
