Its going to be a little difficult for corn to expand without every input supplier taking a big cut out of the profits. Fuel, fertilizer and seed suppliers are very able and willing to raise prices as high as the market will bear. And on the ethanol side I doubt if the oil companies will let ethanol take away marketshare without putting the squeeze on at some point in time. If fuel prices continue to increase then we don't have much choice except try to process ag products closer to home. China's and India's economies will allow them to afford the shipping cost of obtaining food supplies from the US, but the rest of the poor countries won't.
