Subject: Planting deeper

Kansas

Harvesting corn I noticed an improvement of yield where I had planted some 3 inches (or close to it )before getting the planter adjusted to 2 inches. With concerns of dry weather getting more numerous is deeper planting say half inch deeper than the norm something to consider?
