West Texas | Here in dryland cotton country the old time farmers use 'buster' planters to plant in beds. They will have their land listed up in beds the previous fall or winter, then come in and plant using a busterbottom to knock the bed out of the way. There they hope to find moisture to plant in. Makes it fun to cultivate as there will be a bed in between the rows to have to stay on top of with the tractor.
One year we had to use 'V' wings on our planter to move some dirt with wrong herbicide over. We ended up with beds in between the rows. At cultivating time I could barely run over 3 mph. | |
