Most farmers here use the rule of planting wheat first knuckle down from the tip of your finger LOL. I just happen to have a ruler here and that comes out roughly to 3/4 of an inch. Other than that just down to where it's into moist soil. I like to put beans and milo 1-1.5 and corn 2-2.5 myself. Out in western KS and eastern CO they use hoe drills to do wheat and I know they are going kinda deep.
